TIDAL YOGA BEGAN IN THE EARLY 1990’S WHEN TWO FRIENDS MET AT A SMALL KINDERGARTEN IN BEAUTIFUL PARK CITY, UT.
Maddy was the blond bombshell, with her quick wit and hilarious sense of humor; while Melody was the tom-boy, with an outrageous sense of optimism and a toothy grin to match. Although from completely different backgrounds, they grew through middle and high school together, always sharing a special bond based on listening and learning from one another.
Post college, the Tidal Yoga twins continued to grow in their understanding of who they were and what they wanted to offer the world. Maddy moved to San Diego to pursue her Stott Pilates certification, and Melody relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area to study holistic health and Hatha Yoga. After 4 years and many conversations, both Maddy and Melody returned home to Park City to manifest their empowered vision of a community wellness center.
THEIR DUALITY AND YIN-YANG ENERGY IS THEIR STRENGTH, AND WITH OPEN HEARTS CREATED tidal yoga.
Daughter of an eastern European immigrant and raised in the mountains of Park City, Melody knew from an early age that there is a special connection between people and the Earth. She recalls passionately playing in her grandmother’s garden as a child, and, always a lover of odd things, enjoyed crafting healing kits out of plants and stones. Before graduating high school, Melody had a serious medical trauma that debilitated her mobility, and required her to approach life in a much different way. She discovered the practice of yoga, initially very slowly and quietly; it served as a foundational tool for her to heal physically, but also laid the blueprint for future psychological and emotional healing.
Melody attended the University of Utah for her Bachelors of Science, then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for an exciting and fated new opportunity. She has continued to follow her passion for healing trauma, and enjoys educating clients on the energy meridians of the body and how to live in rhythm with the Earth.
Maddy is a true Park City local, moving here with her family in 1996 from Los Angeles. Growing up playing in the backyard of PC, Maddy early on became passionate about lifelong health and fitness and helping others spark that same passion. Attending Westminster College for a degree in International Business and Spanish, Maddy moved back to LA to work in theatrical digital marketing for Pantelion Films. Once realizing a career in film was not her dream, she relocated to San Diego to help clients find confidence, strength and alignment within their bodies.
After receiving her Stott Pilates Certification and teaching at several studios in La Jolla, Maddy decided it was time to return to Utah to further her education. She is currently applying for PT school, and hopes to incorporate her Pilates background with her degree to build a more in-depth, educational practice for her clients.
